| When you look at things from a "kid's perspective", things aren't always "as they seem". (Hummm, that's also true now when I forget to take my medication)! One of our many simple pastimes as young kids was to throw stones on top of the barn roof and watch them "bounce back" and return down the roof to us! We just couldn't figure out as to how they returned to us rather than going over the other side of the roof. We even thought that they must have hit all the cattle manure behind the barn and then bounced back over the roof! Why one of us just didn't go behind the barn and see what actually caused the stones to bounce back, I'll never know. I guess as young kids we were too busy having fun at it, that we didn't really care how it happened, but just that it happened. It wasn't until we were older (hey, not that much older), that we finally realized what the real cause was. Since we were young, we had to stand close to the barn in able to get the stones to go "over the top" of the roof. The pic below shows our perspective then: |
