| The pig stories just keep rolling out from my gray matter. We also had a lot of cattle both on our farm and the other farm we ran, so I'll get some "cow capers" on here eventually. My theory as to why we had more pig encounters is that pigs are easier to tease and cattle just run away! Among the things we did with the pigs, some of which are in previous accounts, one of the funniest to me were when we fed them. We would shovel ear corn to them and as they were eating and having their rear ends facing toward us, we would move a good distance away (to make it "sporty"), then we would throw ears of corn at them. This was just like an arcade game because if you hit them in certain "magic spots" (the buttocks around their tails), their corkscrew tails would straighten out for several seconds! Some 40+ years later, Tim and I still laugh when we recall this. In later years, we would sometimes throw extra ears for the pigs to eat and then "just happened" to hit the "magic spot", (PURELY by accident of course)! ;-) |
