| This is the 2nd story I've published today! I took a rare few days off from work during the 4th of July! I love these little "Glorious Previews of Retirement", when every day's a Saturday, and every night is a Friday night, and every day's a holiday, and every holiday is just another day!!! Oh yeah!!!! Hey, I told you on my "Countdown to Retirement Page" that NO ONE is looking forward to retirement more than me! I've kept PLENTY BUSY during my "Glorious Preview" thus far doing MY OWN things! Anyway... on the way back from feeding the horses, I hooked up the fertilizer spreader to the tractor for Tim, and he reminded me of another story subject! After our Dad died, when we were 12, Uncle Ned made some attempts to "be like a father to us". However, due to his procrastination problem, projects he mentioned for the 3 of us to do rarely were completed. One example Tim just mentioned was a tree house he said we were going to build in one of the trees at the end of the garden. The 3 of us nailed up two 2X4's in the tree and that's all the further the project got! For years, just the 2 boards remained in the tree until both Ned and the tree died! To this day Tim and I use the expression, "I'll do it This Fall", for any big project we want to tackle, but have no intention of completing! Lately, I've begun to use the phrase, "When I finally retire...". Hummmmmmm... |
